ASTM (ASTM D6045, D1500) Colour Reference Standards are for routine calibration of colour measuring instruments and verification of test data. These colour standards are dual UKAS certified to the international Standards ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034. Determination of the colour of is used for manufacturing control purposes and is an important quality characteristic because the colour is readily observed by the user of the product. In some cases, the colour may serve as an indicator of the degree of refinement of the material. A variation outside the colour range specifications of a product may indicate possible contamination.
